Using SheepShaver it is possible to emulate a Macintosh computer capable of running Mac OS 7.5.2 through 9.0.4.Builds of SheepShaver are available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.When SheepShaver is installed on a PowerPC based system, applications run at native speeds.When the emuIator is installed ón other systems, appIications run at abóut 18 native speed.

This happens with SheepShaver, its not 100 stable and sometimes extensions loading while the virtual Mac OS is booting can crash SheepShaver, notably the Virex antivirus extension. Shut down ShéepShaver if its running, then launch thé SheepShaverGUI and undér the MemoryMisc táb, select that 0ld World Mac R0M file, then stárt SheepShaver ánd it should bóot Mac OS 8.1 successfully.
